Disaster can strike any time and anywhere, and any family. While we may not have control over these disastrous events, natural disasters, and manmade disasters, we do have control over whether we are prepared to survive through disaster preparedness - because everyone deserves that chance. We cannot guarantee our safety or survival, however disaster preparedness and survival basics allows us the very best chance for survival in the face of disasters.

Humanity is faced with a variety of potential disasters or threats which include natural disaster such as earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, landslides, and many more different disastrous threats.  Another type of threat would be for example, the threat of chemical or biological attack, or one we've only recently started thinking about again, economic depression or economic disaster. No matter the type of threat, disasters or emergency situations can strike quickly and unexpectedly, and often help is not able to reach people, or survivors, quickly enough.

The deadliest hurricane since 1928, Katrina, claimed 1,836 lives with many more people missing.  There were a lot of survivors who found themselves without help or relief for hours and days - without emergency food or emergency drinking water, and other emergency supplies. As many survivors waited for help to arrive, hours turned to days. While we cannot change the outcome of that tragedy, we can learn some important lessons from it.  It should help motivate us all to be active and take responsibility for protecting our life and the lives of our loved ones - to the best of our ability. One important step in disaster preparedness is to make sure our home, our car, our workplace - all have a disaster relief kit or survival kit, along with emergency supplies, a first aid kit, and including survival basics like emergency drinking water and emergency food and emergency warmth.

Most people are not prepared to face disaster. Disasters are real. Disasters claim lives. Disaster Preparedness is your responsibility and my responsibility.  It cannot wait.  Be active, make a plan, get informed and educated, and definitely make sure you pick up some survival basics and essentials - a disaster survival kit.

Our goal is to encourage disaster preparedness for the best chance of survival for all - because every person needs the basics of life - food and water, shelter and warmth, first aid. Every person deserves that chance.

Your life and that of your family's lives, is in your hands. It is not safe to assume that someone else will be there with necessary survival essentials and emergency supplies in the moments, days, or weeks that might matter the most. We believe every home should have at least one survival kit with emergency supplies, emergency first aid kit, emergency food and water for survival, and some basic survival necessities.

Our goal is for every home to have a survival kit and survival essentials. We will start with the goal of reaching one million homes, and we will continue working, so that every home and every man, woman, and child has the same fighting chance if and when they should ever have to face a disaster or emergency situation.  Make a plan, get informed and educated, talk to your loved ones and inform them....get some basic life saving essentials to store in your home, in your car, at your work, at your child's school.

Give a priceless gift! A survival kit or disaster relief kit is a unique gift for a friend or loved one. It's a gift that everyone needs, though they may not realize just how important it is. Make sure your friends and loved ones are aware of how important disaster preparedness is, and the importance of having a survival kit or disaster relief kit.

As parents and spouses, friends and family - we are guardians and we need to take that responsibility seriously. While some emergencies come in the form of big natural disasters like hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes - they can also come in the form of an emergency that is just as urgent - such as a car accident, or getting stranded in your car, in a boat, on a mountain, in the woods,or on the water.

An emergency or disaster can happen at any time. Be prepared. Without the necessary basic survival tools and emergency supplies, the accident, emergency, or disaster can be more costly. There is no way to guarantee survival in any event, but being prepared by having some basic necessary items could make the difference in saving our lives, or the lives of our loved ones.
